Are you concerned about your child's development?
If you are concerned about your child’s development, it is best to reach out and don’t wait since these early years of brain and physical development go by so fast! The earlier children receive services, the better the outcomes. Early Intervention is a free entitlement for all children and not based on family income. We are here to help you with the referral process to determine if your child is eligible for Early Intervention.
Learn more about our partner Ivy Rehab, a pediatric therapy network!
Play & Learn partners with Ivy Rehab to provide professional development tour teachers and families. Families can access pediatric therapy services via medical insurance while waiting for the Early Intervention process to be completed.

Infant Toddler Contracted Slots Program (ITCSP)
The Infant Toddler Contracted Slots Pilot Program is a free program for children up to 3 years of age who are currently participating in Child Care Works. The program is structured as a mixed age group so that children being served by the program will have the same teachers from the time of enrollment to the time they move into the Pre-K Counts program. This program is currently offered at the Hatboro, Lansdale, Collegeville, and Norristown Play & Learn Centers. Eligibility guidelines must be met in order to be included in the program. Get more information by emailing kmosley@playandlearn.com or calling 215-643-4142.
PreK Counts
Play and Learn is proud to be one of the few early child care education centers in Montgomery County to offer the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Pre-K Counts program, a free early learning program for qualifying families. The Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program provides certified, experienced teachers with the expertise to teach young children and offers a small class size with no more than 20 children, so that your child can have plenty of one-on-one time with the teacher. The program uses a curriculum aligned with state and local standards for kindergarten. Our teachers will prepare your child with the academic skills needed for kindergarten success. The Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program is free for eligible families and is offered at the Hatboro, Lansdale, Collegeville, Royersford and Norristown Play and Learn centers. The program takes place from September through June with 180 school days for five hours a day with extended care available for families who need additional hours. Morning snack and lunch are included. Qualifying children must be at least 3 years old by September but not yet eligible for local public school kindergarten and have a family income at or below 300 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. To learn more about the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program, visit the Pennsylvania Key website.
Play & Learn understands that some families may not meet the qualifications for subsidized childcare (ELRC ), Infant Toddler Contracted Slots Program or PreK Counts based on work and/or other requirements. If you are still interested in finding a program for your child to meet their socialization and educational needs, please visit the following link to find out more about Early Head Start and Head Start options in your area: Head Start Center Locator | ECLKC (hhs.gov)
Is your child's behavior challenging?
If you have concerns about your child’s behavior, know that the child’s challenges often have nothing to do with your parenting style! Just like Early Intervention, though, the earlier you reach out for support, the better. We will walk you through the process as navigating the system for child mental health services takes some persistence and patience.
Don't miss out on registering your child for kindergarten!
Getting your child registered for Kindergarten as early as possible helps for a smooth transition from childcare or PreK Counts to Kindergarten. Click on this link and scroll down to Montgomery County to look for your district information on Kindergarten Registration. Most Montgomery County schools open up Kindergarten Registration on February 1st!
Does your family need WIC support for food?
If you are struggling financially, you may qualify for WIC to ensure that your young children have supports for proper nutrition.
Do you know anyone who needs support due to domestic violence?
If you know someone, or are struggling with domestic violence yourself, help is available. Play & Learn partners with Laurel House to serve families in need of childcare and share resources to keep our children safe.
