Play & Learn has been providing quality care and early education since 1981.  As we look to the future, we see many opportunities for growth and development.  Recently, Play & Learn held a Strategic Visioning Conference to begin to build a 3, 5 and 10 year strategic plan for the organization.  During this 2 day conference, a representative group of our school community gathered to share their ideas and thoughts.  Working with facilitator Andrew Mozenter, President of Concentrics Inc., the group began the strategic planning process by working as a whole to outline the current strengths of the organization, priorities and opportunities. ... Community Service at Play and Learn

At Play and Learn, we teach our children the importance of community service.  Each year, our centers participate in collection drives that support local organizations including Manna on Main, the Mattie Dixon Community Cupboard, the Open Link, A Baby's Breath and many others.  Our children gain an understanding of what it means to helps others and to support their local community. Play and Learn Welcomes Foster Grandparents

Play and Learn is proud to have four amazing Foster Grandparents spending time with our children.  Ms. Carol, Ms. Pamela, Ms. Shirley and Ms. Kathleen have all recently joined the Play and Learn family at our Bryn Mawr, Fort Washington, Lansdale and Norristown centers. The Foster Grandparent Program provides volunteer opportunities for limited-income seniors over the age of 55 to help children with special needs.  They provide one-on-one academic and emotional support to children who have physical or developmental disabilities or are in need of additional assistance. We’re Always Growing at Play and Learn

Today, staff from all 11 Play and Learn centers gathered together at the Greater Plymouth Community Center in Plymouth Meeting for an all day training.  The day began with a performance by Joy Poole, a preschool teacher at the Abington Gerstadt Center.  She opened the training by sharing her methods of engaging children with song.  The group then dispursed into smaller trainings that included Growing Up Wild: Exploring Nature with Young Children, Positive Guidance Strategies, Observation for Screening, Assessment and Individualized Planning, Sensory Processing Issues: From Misconceptions to Strategies, Health & Safety and Rising Leadership Training & Focus Group. Friends and Family Enjoy Friendly’s

Another great family night was enjoyed by all 11 Play & Learn centers as families gathered at a few local Friendly’s restaurants to appreciate the company of each other while enjoying a tasty meal.  This family night raised over $250 for the enrichment gym and music programs at our centers.  Great family night events like these are what allows Play & Learn to continue to provide the kids favorite activities.
