Pennsylvania’s Free Early Learning Program
Play and Learn is proud to be one of the few early childhood organizations in Montgomery County to offer the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Pre-K Counts program, a free early learning program for qualifying families.
The Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program provides certified, experienced teachers with the expertise to teach young children. The program utilizes an appropriate curriculum that is aligned with state and local standards for kindergarten. Our teachers will prepare your child with the academic skills needed for kindergarten success. Our Pre-K Counts program offers a small class size with no more than 20 children, so that your child can have plenty of one-on-one time with the teacher.
The Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts program is offered at the Hatboro, Lansdale, Collegeville and Norristown Play and Learn centers. The program takes place September 2020- June 2021 with 180 school days. The school day runs from 9:30am – 2:30pm with extended care available. Morning snack and lunch are included.
Qualifying children must meet the following criteria:
- be at least 3 years old by September 2020 but not yet eligible for local public school kindergarten
- have a family income at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level
