For children ages 6 weeks to 12 months old
Your baby’s transition from home to our infant daycare should be comfortable and easy for both you and your child. At Play and Learn, we are experts at creating daycare centers with a cheery, nurturing “home away from home” atmosphere that will encourage your baby to reach critical infant developmental milestones.
At Play and Learn, however, we are more than just a daycare for babies. We believe in providing quality infant care through an individualized approach. Utilizing the nationally recognized Bright Baby™ curriculum, activities are individually planned for each infants developmental stage.
The Bright Baby curriculum focuses on the following areas of baby development:
- Independence and self-confidence
- Motor skills
- Social and emotional growth
- Creative expression
- Talking and listening
Each day we engage our youngest learners in a host of imaginative activities. You’ll find us playing peek-a-boo, dancing and playing with musical instruments, reading stories, or feeling cloths of different textures. We also teach baby sign language for words like “milk” and “more,” so our infants can communicate in a frustration-free manner with caregivers. In nice weather we’ll take a stroll outdoors in our “Bye Bye Buggie.”
We’ll follow your baby’s personal schedule of napping, eating and diapering, making time during these routine activities to sing, talk and cuddle. We keep families informed with “My Day” Reports detailing your baby’s day. And our Warm Welcome Policy ensures that parents can take comfort knowing they can stop in any time to nurse or just to visit.
Staff are trained to focus on each individual child in order to meet your little one’s changing developmental needs. Daily observations allow staff to plan appropriate activities to help your child reach his/her next milestone. Your child’s developmental progress will be assessed on an on-going basis using the Ounce Scale.
