Play & Learn Teacher Wins Teacher of the Year Award

Keystone STARS is an initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) to improve, support and recognize the continuous quality improvement efforts of early learning programs in Pennsylvania.

Recently, Keystone STARS recognized teachers throughout southeastern Pennsylvania for their excellence in their profession. Out of 78 nominations for the Teacher of the Year Award, six of which were Play & Learn teachers, Ms. Lori Williams from the Fort Washington Play & Learn center stood out amongst the nominations and was chosen as one of two winners in Montgomery County.

Ms. Lori has worked for Play & Learn for eighteen years. She has a B.S. Degree in Education from Gwynedd Mercy College and is in the process of achieving her Master’s Degree in Special Needs. She began as a preschool teacher at Play & Learn and has been the Kindergarten teacher for the last three years.

Ms. Lori received a framed certificate from Keystone STARS as well as a citation from State Representative Scott Petri and a certificate from Senator Thomlinson. Congratulations Lori for your achievement and to all the Play & Learn teachers for your nominations. You will always be
