How Reading Impacts Development

Your child is never too young to start reading! As children grow, they are constantly soaking in new information. Reading with your child can strengthen your bond, increase their listening skills, bolster their cognitive and language development, expand their vocabulary, and more. If getting to the library is a challenge, consider joining an online digital resource for reading with your little ones! While there is nothing as special as curling up with a good book together, using a digital library is a close second. When families use digital books, as long as the process is interactive between the adult and the child, it can still have a positive impact on early literacy development. There are some free websites to access digital books and some do cost a fee.  Epic is one that costs a fee but has an incredible library for young children.  Happy reading!
