Spring weather can be delightfully fickle! One minute it’s sunny, the next a cool breeze rolls in. The key is layering.
- Think in layers: Start with a light, breathable base layer, add a warmer middle layer like a fleece, and finish with a waterproof and windproof outer jacket. This allows you to easily adjust their clothing as the temperature changes.
- Sun smarts are year-round: Even on cloudy spring days, harmful UV rays can penetrate. Apply a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher at least 15-20 minutes before heading out. Don’t forget those often-missed spots like ears, the back of the neck, and tops of feet.
- Hats are helpful: A wide-brimmed hat offers extra protection for their face, ears, and neck.
- Footwear finesse: Choose sturdy, closed-toe shoes that provide good traction. Muddy puddles and uneven terrain are common springtime companions!
