Norristown

About Our Center

Play & Learn Norristown opened in February 2013 in the Montgomery County Human Services Building. Our center provides convenient, on-site childcare for Montgomery County employees as well as the local community. Our spacious playgrounds have separate areas for younger and older children. Indoors, you’ll find bright, cheerful classrooms for learning centers and play.

Norristown & The Community

The Norristown location is close to the courthouse, foodbank, and Early Learning Resource Center. This close proximity to important community resources is very convenient for families and provides access to valuable supports. Play & Learn Norristown is also close to the Elmwood Park Zoo, which is where the Annual Granny Scholarship Family Event Fundraiser is held.

Message from the Director: Deserie Rivers

My name is Deserie Rivers and I am honored to be here at Play & Learn Norristown.

I love teaching young children and I want to help other teachers find this passion as well! My mission as an educator is to help children discover the joy of learning, and to help each child develop a strong belief in his or her own ability. I want them to do their best and to have a sense of pride in doing so. It is also of primary importance to me that children and staff appreciate and respect the diversity we all possess.

I have bachelor’s degree in Special Education and master’s degree in Elementary Education, both from Chestnut Hill College.  I have a PA Instructional 1 Teaching Certificate and earned the PA Director’s Credential.
